Abstract:Billboard warns against fake crypto scams using its brand. Learn how to spot fraud and protect yourself from fake promotions.

Scammers are fraudulently using the Billboard name and trademark to run a cryptocurrency scam operation. This fraudulent activity is entirely illegitimate and has no affiliation with Billboard, the renowned music and entertainment authority.
If you or someone you know has fallen victim to such a scam, it is crucial to act immediately. The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is your go-to resource for reporting these crimes. Visit their website to file a complaint and seek assistance.

Billboard has clarified that it never solicits compensation for music or artist promotion. Websites and social media accounts promising coverage in exchange for profit share paid via cryptocurrency are not affiliated with Billboard. Examples of confirmed scam pages include
musicpromobillboard.com/login and musicpromobillboard.com/register.
Additionally, beware of any “company” claiming to be Billboard or Billboard International, LLC that invites you to register for paid coverage online or in print. These are imposters. Do not send them any form of payment. Scammers may use deceptive email addresses like info@billboard.technology to appear legitimate.
This issue is not new. For years, scammers on social media have posed as Billboard contributors, stealing photos and biographical information from real writers profiles. They often target smaller artists, offering coverage in exchange for money. If you encounter such a scam, block the user immediately and report them to the social media platform.
Its important to note that Billboard does not have the authority to directly ban or freeze social media accounts impersonating its contributors. This makes it even more critical for individuals to remain vigilant and protect themselves from falling victim to these scams.
Stay informed, stay cautious, and always verify the authenticity of any communication claiming to be from Billboard. Your safety and security are paramount.
