A Visit to SBI in Japan – Office Found
Japan

Reasons for Field Survey

The Japanese foreign exchange market is one of the world's most important forex trading markets, boasting a long history, a mature financial system, and strict regulatory mechanisms. It holds a crucial position in the global forex market. With numerous participants and high trading activity, it is subject to strict oversight by regulatory agencies such as the Financial Services Agency of Japan, ensuring the market's standardized operation. To help investors gain a more comprehensive understanding of the actual operations of forex dealers in the region, the field research team conducted an on-site visit to Japan.

Field Survey Process

This issue's field research team traveled to Japan as planned to conduct an on-site visit to the forex broker SBI. Publicly available information indicates its office address is located on the 26th floor of the Izumi Garden Building, 1-6-1 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Dedicated to ensuring stringent investor scrutiny, the professional and experienced field research team carefully reviewed the address's locational characteristics and transportation information, developed a thorough visit plan, and then conducted a comprehensive on-site verification of SBI based on the publicly available address information.

Based on the address information, the field research team traveled to Tokyo's Roppongi district. The Izumi Garden Building, where the target address is located, is a prominent high-end office building with a modern and elegant exterior, making it one of the area's high-end commercial buildings. Upon arrival, the field research team first observed the building from the outside. Due to the unobstructed view around the building, they were able to capture panoramic photos covering the building's overall appearance, architectural outline, and surroundings. However, after inspecting the building's facade, entrance signage, and surrounding promotional areas, they found no reference to the SBI name or logo.

The field research team then entered the first-floor lobby through the building's main entrance. The lobby's interior is exquisitely decorated, exuding a high-end business atmosphere. Professional security personnel and front desk staff are on site. After explaining their purpose for verifying the operations of a foreign exchange broker, the inspectors conducted their inspection in the lobby's public areas. They focused on the electronic floor guides and physical floor signs, verifying the information of the occupants line by line. They clearly saw that the sign clearly indicated SBI's presence on the 26th floor, with complete and unambiguous information, further confirming the broker's connection to the publicly available address.

The inspectors subsequently planned to visit the 26th floor to verify SBI's specific office location and actual operations. However, upon discussing the floor entry process with building staff, they learned that the building implements a strict security management system. All non-residents must make an appointment with the target institution in advance and complete registration with proof of appointment and valid identification before gaining access to the corresponding floor. Because the inspection team failed to contact SBI in advance and schedule an appointment, they failed to meet the building's access requirements and were ultimately unable to enter the 26th floor. They were also unable to further confirm SBI's specific office area and interior details on that floor.

Since they were unable to access the office floor, the inspection team was unable to enter SBI's office space or photograph its reception desk or logo from the outside. Based on the building's management model, floor layout, and the types of organizations resident, the address lacked signage and service facilities for shared office spaces, clearly not belonging to a shared office space. Furthermore, considering the high-end positioning of the Izumi Garden Building, the office environment standards of similar buildings in the surrounding area, and the description of SBI's office environment in public information, it can be concluded that its internal office environment meets luxurious standards, consistent with the building's overall business positioning.

Based on these on-site observations, the floor sign on the 26th floor of the Izumi Garden Building, located at 1-6-1 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, as shown in public information, clearly indicates SBI's presence, and the address is consistent with the inspection form.

Therefore, the inspection confirmed the presence of the trading company SBI at the aforementioned address.

Field Survey Summary

The surveyors visited SBI as planned and observed the broker's company name and logo displayed prominently at the publicly shown business address, indicating the physical presence of the broker's business. Investors are advised to take all factors into consideration before making a decision.
