A Visit to Cargill in Japan – No Office Found

Reasons for Field Survey
The Japanese foreign exchange market is one of the world's most important forex trading markets, boasting a long history, a mature financial system, and strict regulatory mechanisms. It holds a crucial position in the global forex market. With numerous participants and high trading activity, it is subject to strict oversight by regulatory agencies such as the Financial Services Agency of Japan, ensuring the market's standardized operation. To help investors gain a more comprehensive understanding of the actual operations of forex dealers in the region, the field research team conducted an on-site visit to Japan.
Field Survey Process
This issue's field research team traveled to Tokyo as planned to conduct an on-site inspection of Cargill, a brokerage firm. Publicly available information lists its office address as Kokusai Bldg, 3-1-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 100-0005.
The professional and experienced field research team, driven by a sense of responsibility to rigorously verify the company's operations for investors, followed a carefully crafted plan and traveled to Tokyo. Based on the aforementioned address, they conducted an on-site inspection of Cargill.
Based on the address information, the field research team traveled to the Marunouchi area of Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, attempting to locate Cargill at Kokusai Bldg, 3-1-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 100-0005. The field research team successfully arrived at the Kokusai Bldg address. The company campus and surrounding streets appeared average, and the team was able to capture a panoramic view of the building.
However, due to renovations, the field research team was unable to enter the building, and consequently, the lobby. Upon investigation, there were no company signs in the building, nor was the Cargill logo visible on either the exterior or interior.
Because the building was inaccessible, the inspection team was unable to reach the specific floor, confirm the location, or enter the company. The address was not a shared office, and no photos of the reception desk with the Cargill logo could be taken. Information regarding the company's internal office environment, number of rooms, or number of workstations was also unavailable.
Thus, the inspection confirmed that the dealer Cargill did not exist at the aforementioned address, and the address did not match the one listed on the inspection form.
Field Survey Summary
The surveyors visited the Cargill as planned. They could not find the broker's company name and other information at its publicly displayed business place, indicating that the broker does not have a real business location. Investors are advised to consider this information comprehensively before making decisions.
